No More Time for Excuses PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 18 January 2006

Some days it seams you've got to push yourself a little harder to get your butt into gear to workout.

The excuses could go on for ever or not be anything in particular, but somehow you end up missing another day of working out. I went to bed late, I feel a cold coming on, or even I pigged out the night before and I am too sluggish to go workout. These excuses are the reasons you should be in the gym.

Another day of lying on the couch watching TV is not going to get you any closer to your fitness goals or vanquish your guilt. So get rid of that guilt and feel better about yourself by doing something that makes you feel good. And I don't mean go and have some chocolate either. Most of us know that chocolate will temporarily make you smile because of the caffeine, serotonin, and thiamine in the chocolate (the feel good chemicals). But did you know that when you workout you release endorphines that make you feel better then chocolate can. It's just a matter of time before that natural chemical kicks in, and then you feel like the king or queen of the gym.

Stop the excuses and workout like you've never worked out before. Take all the stress you carry on your shoulders from work, kids, and life to the gym. Attack your workout and if you need more motivation think of your health and your looks. Keeping fit will do a number of great things for your body: healthy skin, clean arteries, lean muscle, and a strong heart. Your quality of life should not be neglected. Strength training, cardiovascular, and a clean nutritious diet will help keep your youth and quality of life. So stop being a couch potatoe and get out the door, no excuses.
